- PCMan [GNU GPL] - PCMan is an easy-to-use telnet client mainly targets BBS users formerly running under MS Windows.
- PuTTy - PuTTY is a free implementation of Telnet and SSH for Win32 and Unix platforms, along with an xterm terminal emulator. It is written and maintained primarily by Simon Tatham.
- Tera Term - Tera Term (Pro) is a free software terminal emulator (communication program) for MS-Windows. It supports VT100 emulation, telnet connection, serial port connection, and so on.
- MSSH - Free Secure Socket Handler (SSH) implementation for Microsoft Windows.
- WeirdX [GNU GPL] - Pure Java X Window System Server under GPL.
- TightVNC - TightVNC is a free remote control software package derived from the popular VNC software. With TightVNC, you can see the desktop of a remote machine and control it with your local mouse and keyboard, just like you would do it sitting in the front of that computer.
- Ultr@VNC [GNU GPL] - UltraVNC is a powerful, easy to use and free software that can display the screen of another computer (via internet or network) on your own screen. The program allows you to use your mouse and keyboard to control the other PC remotely. It means that you can work on a remote computer, as if you were sitting in front of it, right from your current location.
- EchoVNC [GNU GPL] - EchoVNC is a secure, "firewall-friendly" remote-desktop tool based on Ultr@VNC with echoWare integration.
- BO2K [GNU GPL] - BO2K is the most powerful network administration tool available for the Microsoft environment, bar none.
- Synergy [GNU GPL] - With synergy, all the computers on your desktop form a single virtual screen. You use the mouse and keyboard of only one of the computers while you use all of the monitors on all of the computers.
- FreeNX - FreeNX is a complete solution for remote access to your Unix workstation. It allows 2 concurrent users to connect no matter what their location is, and share the desktop.
